MAJOR 7TH CHORD




  A seventh chord is a triad chord with an added seventh interval above the root.  That easy you simply add a note to your normal chords and you have a 7th chord (meaning you will be playing 4 notes).
 Major 7TH:
The major 7th is no different from the 7th chords. But it is formed only by a 1/2 step difference from the Major Chord, but it produces a HUGE difference in the sound and how they are used. 7th chords are extremely common and are used in all kinds of music. Major 7th chords are less common, and are generally used as "flavored chords" to create a certain sound, a certain mood.
     To form a major 7th chord, simply add the 7th note of the scale to the major triad. For example, you know that the C major triad is C - E - G. You also know that the C scale has 8 notes, the 7th of which is B. So by adding B to the C major triad, we create a Cmaj7 chord: Equ- major chords + 7th note = Major 7TH.
