The acoustic, the most played
stringed instrument unlike the piano with many strings it comprises of a wooden
head, a (plastic/wooden) body which comprises of a sound board and a sound box to amplify the vibrations of the
string. It’s made in a key-like manner
The major source of sound in the acoustic guitar is the
string, which when plucked with the fingers/plectrum produces a vibration
at a fundamental frequency but also creates many harmonical sounds at different
frequencies. The sounds and frequencies produced depend on the string length,
mass, and tension. Each string produces different vibration which the
soundboard and sound box amplifies to give different harmonics at different
resonances.
