Knowing What Key You Are In When You Have Sharps(#'s)

Knowing what key you are in is a great deal  if you're going to be able to know what chord progressions are likely in each key, you obviously need to know how to find the key of a song quickly. check out on how to play by ear because that is the first think you need learn.
Here's how to instantly find what key you are in when there are sharps(#'s) in the key signature of any song you want to play.

  •  know that the flats in any key always occur in the same order - BEADGCF.
  •  Sharps also occur in the same order -- except that the order is BACKWARDS from the order of the flats. Instead of BEADGCF, the order of the sharps is: FCGDAEB

If you could memorize them and know how they are formed and and what form they take then you will become a great pianist. you can memorize them by creating a silly pattern for them. Since they always occur in that order in any key All you do to find the key is: Go up 1/2 step from the last sharp = that IS the key.
